Welcome to the Community Shul of Montecito and Santa Barbara. We are truly a unique, innovative and caring community that is more of a large family than a normal synagogue. Like a family, we generally meet at people's homes once a month where everyone brings food to share and we have a wonderful spiritually uplifting shabbat experience. Like a family, we also gather for the major holidays at Pacifica Graduate Institute, formaly known as La Casa De Maria on 801 Ladero Lane, Santa Barbara. Everyone is welcome - Jews of all backgrounds, interfaith and blended families - we create services with a strong spiritual component and create a very welcoming environment. Everyone who wants to participate is given an opportunity to add to the services and our community.

Our very strong religious school which meets on Monday nights at the JCC resembles a family due to it's small size and very caring faculty-- we know all the students and give everyone the individualized attention they deserve.

And, we are a very healthy family... we don't have politics, everyone just likes being together and celebrating the joys of our ancient tradition in this very modern and complex world.

Since our staff is so small, we rely on people pitching in and becoming involved.

We invite you to join with our family and participate as much as you wish. Our doors are always open and our arms are always outstreached.
